Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 6, 2026
Overview
cosas ("we," "our," or "us") is a habit tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch. We built cosas with a straightforward principle: your personal data belongs to you, stays on your device, and is never sold or shared with third parties.
This Privacy Policy explains what information cosas collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. By using cosas, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
cosas collects only the minimum data needed to function as a habit tracker. All habit data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Habit names and settings — the names, colors, frequencies, and reminders you create for your habits.
- Completion logs — a record of which days you marked each habit as complete.
- Streak counts — calculated from your completion logs to show progress over time.
- Apple Watch sync data — completion status is shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This data never leaves your devices.
- Sign in with Apple (optional) — if you create an account, Apple provides us with an anonymous user identifier. You may optionally share your display name. We do not receive your email address unless you choose to share it through Apple's relay service.
No analytics. No ads. No tracking. cosas does not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or behavioral tracking tools of any kind.
How We Use Your Information
The information collected is used solely to provide the features of cosas:
- Display your habits, completion history, and streaks within the app.
- Sync habit completion status between your iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Show Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets with your current habit progress.
- Deliver optional reminders at times you configure.
- Identify your account if you use Sign in with Apple, so your data can be associated with your Apple ID across reinstalls.
We do not use your data for advertising, user profiling, machine learning model training, or any purpose beyond operating the app for you.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any third party, for any reason, ever.
Your habit data lives entirely on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers. We do not operate any backend servers that store your habit data.
The only exception is if you are compelled by law: we would notify you of any legal demand for your information to the extent permitted by law, though we have no data to hand over.
Apple Services
cosas uses several Apple-provided frameworks and services. Apple's own privacy practices govern how Apple handles your information within those services.
- SwiftData — stores all habit data locally on your device.
- WatchConnectivity — transfers completion status between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch over your local Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connection. Data is not routed through Apple's servers.
- Sign in with Apple — Apple handles authentication. Apple may share with us a stable, app-scoped user identifier and optionally your display name. Apple's Privacy Policy governs how Apple processes your credentials and Apple ID information.
- WidgetKit — habit data is read locally to populate Home Screen widgets. No network calls are made.
- Local notifications — reminder alerts are scheduled entirely on-device. We do not use Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for reminders.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your habit data is stored on your device for as long as you use the app. You are in full control of your data at all times.
- Delete a habit — swipe to delete or use the habit's detail screen. The habit and all its history are removed immediately from your device.
- Delete your account — go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your Sign in with Apple user record and all associated data. You can also revoke cosas' access to your Apple ID at any time via Settings → [Your Name] → Sign in with Apple on your iPhone.
- Export your data — go to Settings → Account → Download my data as CSV to export a complete copy of your habit history as a comma-separated file.
- Uninstall the app — removing cosas from your device deletes all locally stored data. Data is not retained on any server.
Children's Privacy
cosas is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it promptly.
Security
Because all habit data is stored locally on your device, security is primarily handled by your device's operating system. Your iPhone's encryption, Face ID / Touch ID, and iOS security model protect your cosas data just like it protects your other app data.
We strongly encourage you to keep your device's operating system and cosas up to date to benefit from the latest security patches.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you through a notice within the app.
Continued use of cosas after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
